Located in Pitlochry and founded in 1951, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre is one of the finest attractions in the local area.
Known as 'Scotland's Theatre in the Hills' - Pitlochry Theatre shows a wide selection of plays ranging from farce and comedy to tragedy, catering for appreciative audiences which return every year to enjoy this theatre's special strengths. In addition to performances in the main auditorium the main season also features regular Foyer events, Concerts, Art and Craft demonstrations and pre-performance entertainment. And there is now a winter season programme.
Welcome to the 2014 Summer Season at the Theatre in the Hills – and to Home Again! To mark Scotland’s second Year of Homecoming, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre will be bringing a joyous, wide-ranging celebration of Scottish theatre voices. Whether urban or rural, contemporary or historical, funny or sad, all the rich, rewarding stories in the Home Again Season are the creations of Scottish playwrights and authors. The 2014 six show Summer Season line up includes: Whisky Kisses, Perfect Days, The Admirable Crichton, The Yellow on the Broom, Passing Places and Mr Bolfry. In addition to the six shows, there will be the usual Summer season events of Sunday Concerts, Active Arts Workshops, Master Classes, Tours, Talks, you name it!
